Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa is growing by leaps and bounds, and for third parties, the way to add functionality to her is by building a “skill”, which is just like an app.
Seemed important to try out, so here’s a basic skill that uses their trivia template. If you have an Alexa-enabled device like the Echo, Tap or Fire Stick with voice remote, add the skill and see how much you know about various mid century furniture designers and architects.
Also, it wouldn’t be surprising if some people don’t think the designers chosen are 100% purist. The complaint department is over there, behind that tree. Keep walking until you see it 🙂
Their development platform is easy to work with if you are familiar with node.js or Python and supports deployment on AWS Lambda, so, it shouldn’t be surprising at all if the ecosystem of available Alexa skills continues to grow at a rapid pace. Now to build something more robust…
